Twin Peaks (s3 Half-Way Point)

 DATELINE:  NO Spoilers Possibletwin peaks

There is no such thing as a spoiler in Twin Peaks. We are not even sure we are still in Twin Peaks after the face of Laura Palmer emerges from the mist in the opening credits.

We have now come to the half-way point of no-return for Season 3 on the bizarre David Lynch TV series, and we can explain everything that happened and you will have no idea what we are talking about.

The episode started with Kyle McLachlan’s Doppleganger Agent D.B. Cooper in a jail break with an accomplice who promptly shoots and kills him. Then, he is beset upon by demonic spirits that apparently bring him back to life.

At this point there is a flashback to a flashpoint in the plot. We find ourselves in Desert Sands, New Mexico, as the first atomic bomb is detonated. If you think of this as a hole in the plot, you may have fallen into the trap.

We are then thrust into a five-minute Stanley Kubrick-style hallucinogenic trip inside a radioactive cloud. When we emerged, we found ourselves in a 1950s black and white horror movie with zombies murdering people.

Oh, yes, somewhere in there we found ourselves in the waiting room of an imperious theater where Lurch the Butler of the Addams Family sends a golden plasma bubble with the face of Laura Palmer back to Earth.

Back on Earth, an alien lizard with wings hatches from an egg near the site of the nuclear explosion in 1956 and enters the mouth of sleeping adolescent girl. Now we feel the Illuminati are lurking somewhere in the storyline.

Is that clear? Are you spoiled yet? Have you any idea if David Lynch has lost his lunch?

Yes, we will watch again next week, not that it matters.

Search for Dead Hitler

DATELINE: Hunting Hitler with Technology & Beefcake

tim Tim Kennedy

History channel has taken on finding the dead Adolph Hitler. Long thought to have escaped his fate at the end of World War II by faking his death, theories abound. Hunting Hitler proves to be a transcending search for former MMA star Tim Kennedy.

One documentary a few years back had traced the Fuhrer to hiding out in the Andes.  Hunting Hitler goes a few steps more with technological agility.

With state-of-the-art computer-aided search tools, the team of experts include CIA operatives, Special Forces soldiers, investigative journalists, and Nazi hunters. Throw in a former MMA star in the person of hunky Tim Kennedy—and you are cooking up a boys’ adventure series.

They are a highly professional bunch, not your usual reality show bunch of expendables.

CIA agent Bob Baer leads the headquarters in Los Angeles, sending his troops off to Norway, Denmark, Spain, and other hot spots in Europe. They find bunkers and places airplanes landed to pick up Hitler and/or Bormann and whisk them away to monasteries on the coast of Spain.

Another team led by former MMA fighter Tim Kennedy traverses South America, from Brazil, to Argentina, to the Andes where a resort named Villa Baveria may have been Hitler’s home away from home. Kennedy interviews Martin Bormann’s daughter and finds Nazi spies everywhere.

Hitler seems to be around the corner at every turn.

It took nearly an entire season of episodes for Tim Kennedy to strip down and show off those muscles for a scuba dive. However, it is the mesmerizing newly released documents from the FBI that stagger the imagination.

Hitler is long dead, wherever he ended up, but the idea that he had big money and powerful friends to help him flee and melt into the Twilight Zone is unnerving.

The show is gripping archaeology, detective work, all well put together. We hope there is more to come.
